Imee Marcos will run for senate when needed: ‘Kung kailanganin ay tatakbo’

In light of the slow action taken on former Senator Ferdinand “BongBong” Marcos Jr.’s election protest against Vice President Leni Robredo, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos said she will run for senate in 2019 if necessary.
“Ang totoo talagang naiinip na kami sa protesta ni BongBong. So kailangan umikot, magpasalamat at kung kailanganin ay tatakbo. Hangga’t may lupa tatakbo. Bahala na,” she said during a press briefing in Laoag on February 3, 2018, Saturday.
She even joked during the press briefing that she was merely a “sunud-sunuran” to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, but otherwise emphasized that it was the Marcoses’ frustration with the slow election protest process that would prompt her to run.
BongBong, on the other hand, had already announced that he will not be running for senator in 2019 because he is determined in pursuing and winning his electoral complaints against Robredo.
Robredo keeps dismissing BongBong’s claims of election fraud by labeling the whole electoral protest as “highly ridiculous, if not outright frivolous”.
Despite Robredo’s camp downplaying the allegations, BongBong has recently revealed ballot images from the Supreme Court that points at an election fraud.
